Hypnotherapy
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the intentional use of hypnosis to access the subconscious and superconscious levels of the mind.
The subconscious mind, often described as “the other 90%”, governs the autonomic functions of the body, stores memories and emotions, shapes our habit patterns, and serves as the source of our dreams.
The superconscious mind (or higher self) is sometimes referred to as the collective unconscious. It is the seat of intuition, spiritual guidance, and inner knowing.
By allowing the conscious mind to rest, hypnotherapy helps us access these deeper layers of wisdom, emotion, and memory, opening powerful pathways for healing, insight, and transformation.
Contrary to popular myth, hypnosis does not involve being asleep or unconscious. Rather, it induces a state of deep physical relaxation and heightened mental focus, where the client remains fully aware and in control at all times. In this state, change becomes not only possible, but highly effective.
Who Benefits from Hypnotherapy?
Anyone who feels ready for deep personal change can benefit from hypnotherapy. This work is especially powerful for those who:
- Want to break free from ingrained habits or self-sabotaging beliefs
- Seek relief from fears, phobias, or anxiety
- Are working through trauma or grief
- Wish to access repressed or lost memories
- Feel spiritually or emotionally “stuck” and are ready to shift
- Are exploring past lives, soul purpose, or Higher Self connection
- Experience vivid or recurring dreams and want to unlock their messages
I also specialize in Hypnotic DreamWork™, a unique approach to working with the subconscious mind through the imagery and emotion of dreams. Any dream that recurs, wakes you suddenly, or leaves you with strong emotions upon waking is a potent candidate for healing through this work.
What Can You Expect from a Session?
We’ll begin with a warm intake, a conversation about your health, history, and goals. There may be tea. There will be trust.
In your first session, I’ll guide you through gentle hypnotic inductions to see which methods resonate best with your unique mind and nervous system. Most sessions take place with you semi-reclined in a comfortable chair, although dreamwork and certain regression techniques may involve light movement or changing positions to facilitate the process.
Standard sessions typically run about 55 minutes, but I often allow for extra time when working with dreams or regression work, which may unfold more deeply and unpredictably.
Depending on your needs and preferences, I may integrate energy healing or sound therapy into the session, tools that can be beautifully amplified in the trance state.
Healing doesn’t stop when you leave the session.
I always encourage clients to journal, sketch, reflect, or rest after hypnosis, and to share insights or questions that arise. Integration is part of the process, and I welcome ongoing connection.
